Nothing says sumer quite like tie-dye. The bright colors, the cherry abstract designs and the fun of dying all make summer fashion fun. Always looking to set my tots apart from the rest of the playground I decided to make them Hawaiian themed tie-dye outfits. This will be a 3 part series that include a hula skirt, tank top onesie with leigh. Pop over to the I Love to Create blog for the full scoop on today's project and see Tallulah hula.

Prize Ribbons Are For More Than The Derby
With the Kentucky Derby still fresh on everyone's minds it seemed only fitting to do a round up of prize ribbons. I kinda have a thing for them. I've made them as jewelry, put them on picture frames and as of late added them to my scrapbooks. Big or small prize ribbons are for more than just horses. Check out the world of prize ribbon possibilities over at I Love to Create.

Cinco de Mayo Crafts - Pinata Figurines
Mother's Day might be right around the corner, but let's not forget about Cinco de Mayo this weekend. You gotta admit Cinco de Mayo is more fun to craft for. Come on, who does not want to make colorful donkey pinata figurines?
The current issue of Kids Crafts 1-2-3 has a couple of cute Cinco de Mayo themed projects. There is a even a free pinata necklace project on our website. Last year I made the kids matching pinata appliqued shirts. This year I wanted to go with the donkey theme, but until I remembered the giant box of spray painted plastic toys in my garage I was not sure what it would be. Then after a trip down the party aisle this morning it all came together. Pop over to I Love to Create to learn how to make your own!

Do Not Disturb - Incorporating Vintage Kitsch Into Scrapbooking and Project Life
My love affair with scrapbooking continues. I'm still smitten with smashing, but I've also started playing with Project Life style pockets. It was a matter of time until I was sucked in. I have yet to do any pages that are about a specific week, instead I have done pages based on a color or theme. I call this one 'Do Not Disturb'.
On a recent trip to the City Wide Garage Sale here in Austin I scored a few treasures. Ok a lot of treasures, if you bare in mind the old saying 'one man's trash is another man's treasure'. I was pumped to find a bag of old hotel door hangers that said "Do Not Disturb". You can see the tops of them peaking up in my picture.
I couldn't wait to add these beauties to my scrapbook. The ones with the squares made perfect little picture frames. Who knew I had so many pictures of my kids sleeping. The signs and the sleeping pictures were begging to join forces.
My favorite in the bag was also clearly the oldest with this cute little fellow catching some zzzz's. I added a bit of ball fringe and some doily stickers.
My favorite photos of the two page layout are these before and after shots of Baxter at nap time.
All this inspired by a few 'Do Not Disturb' signs. I can't wait to see what I come up with using the vintage football ribbons and hair dye guide.

Ombre Sticker Resist Tote Bag Tutorial
My kids play with stickers all the day, why shouldn't I? Big fat foam stickers are a biggie around my house at the moment. Recently I borrowed a few to whip up this fun alphabet tote bag for I Love to Create. Inspired by a project from Kids Crafts 1-2-3 I love this new and exciting ombre resist version.

Making Project Life, Smashbooking and Art Journaling Your Own
I'm still obsessed with Smashbooks except now I have started making my own. With the help of a hole punch, crop-a-dile, Aleene's Tacky Glue and a spiral bound book it is really not all that hard. Pop over to the I Love to Create blog to see how I converted a Better Homes and Gardens 50's home design book into an art journal. Not just that I have made it into my own version of Project Life. I'm throwing in everything, but the kitchen sink. You know me, the kitchen sink might make an appearance sooner rather than later!
